About Deaf Church
It is a joy to be able to share worship with the Deaf Church. Our Reader at St Matthew’s, Joan, is herself deaf, so along with Revd Cathy Nightingale, the diocesan Chaplain for Deaf People, we hold 4 shared services a year with a professional interpreter. These are usually our Christingle Service in December, our Harvest Service, our Good Friday service and one other during the year. These services are planned by a group of Deaf and hearing members and all is on power point. Our next shared service will be on Sunday 12th June followed by a Street Party to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday. Whether Deaf or hearing, all are welcomed at St Matthew’s!
