Due to Coronavirus our normal service pattern is suspended for the time being.
We currently have one Communion Service a week - Sunday 9am.
We have a Sunday online service via Zoom. We'd love to welcome you to worship with us - please contact me for log in details, or sign up to receive our weekly newsletters.
List of Services
Sunday Services:
8:am Holy Communion (BCP)
10:00am Parish Eucharist (except 3rd Sunday)
10:00am 'Worship@10 Eucharist' with laying on of hands and anointing (3rd Sunday only)
J-Club is our Sunday school which meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month and we are a small, friendly group. We gather in church for the start of our 10am service and then leave after the first hymn to take part in our own worship where we have a hymn, a Bible reading and an activity based on the reading. We return to church to take part in communion, or to have a blessing. All leaders have had the relevant safeguarding checks.
Wednesday Service
10:00am Holy Communion
followed by coffee in the Hall
Deaf Church
It is a joy to be able to share worship with the Deaf Church. Our Reader at St Matthew’s, Joan, is herself Deaf, so along with Revd Cathy Nightingale, the diocesan Chaplain for Deaf People, we hold 4 shared services a year with a professional interpreter in BSL (British Sign Language). These services are usually our Christingle Service in December, our Harvest Service, our Good Friday service and one other during the year. These services are planned by a group of Deaf and hearing members and all is on power point. On the 4th Sunday of every month the service is professionally interpreted into BSL. Whether Deaf or hearing, all are welcomed at St Matthew’s!
